It was a great opportunity to meet new folks (and see some familiar faces), and to hear what a few of the area's Democratic candidates have to say. Gerry gave his first public political speech to introduce himself formally to the group; they proved to be a very welcoming crowd with a lot of great questions.
I really enjoyed chatting with these men and women; each had a slightly different focus and had varied issues they wanted to discuss, but overwhelmingly one word unites the people of the SCDC:
Enthusiasm.The energy in the room was contagious as these Democrats rallied to support each other and the party. You couldn't help but get excited about the possibilities that could come from the upcoming elections!
We'll be sure to join these new friends at their next meeting on July 9th - hope to see you there!
